UFC middleweight and number-one contender Chris Weidman has said to UFC president Dana White that he’s going to f— up the UFC’s plans for superfights between Abderson Silva and Jon Jones and Silva and Georges St-Pierre. How’s he going to do that? By beating Silva, of course. Easier said than done, but if Weidman succeeds, Silva’s stock will have dropped a bit, and so a superfight won’t look that good. Besides, he’ll also want to re-match Weidman, which Weidman said he would want to in Madison Square Garden, provided MMA gets approved in New York.
