Roy Nelson has been asked by the UFC to apply for a license to fight Junior Dos Santos at UFC 160 in case they are unable to smooth over Mark Hunt’s immigration issues.  MMAFighting.Com is reporting that an unidentified arrest from 2002 is at the root of Hunt’s issues.  Nelson has not accepted the fight yet but would make more than a worthy backup plan for the promotion. Big Country’s fight license application is expected to be a topic of discussion at a Nevada State Athletic Commission meeting on Friday, May 17th.

Nelson was the first person to ever go three rounds with Junior Dos Santos and is currently riding a three-fight win streak with two of those performances earning Knockout of the Night. Dos Santos is looking to rebound back into the title picture after a disappointing 5 round unanimous decision loss to Cain Velasquez.
