This Saturday in Sweden The Ultimate Fighter Season Nine winner and coach on TUF: The Smashes – Ross Pearson is set to take on Ryan Couture, son of UFC Hall of Famer Randy Couture. Ross Pearson is a UFC veteran. Couture is making his UFC debut, he is one of the fighters that was sent over from Strikeforce to test his skills with the UFC elite.

Pearson spoke with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour and discussed his thoughts on his opponent.

“I definitely feel he’s going to come in prepared, I definitely think it’s going to be the best Ryan Couture we’ve seen, but no, I don’t think he’s on my level I don’t think he’s fought the level of competition I’ve fought. I don’t think he’s been fighting UFC-caliber guys forever, really, so no, I don’t think he’s on my level. If things go to plan he won’t last very long in there with me.”

“I’m not taking him lightly .I’m not overlooking anything. I’m preparing for a tough fight. I know Ryan’s durable. I know Ryan can take a shot, and I know Ryan’s game. So he brings some threats to the table. I just got to be on my A-game, sharp, strong. Knowing how powerful I hit and how fit and strong I am and letting him know how much I want to fight. I’ve got to own this fight and I’ve got to perform well, show him what the UFC is all about.”

Pearson is 7-3 in his last 10 fights, most recently coming off a third round knockout victory over rival coach George Sotiropoulos in December of last year.

Couture holds a record of 6-1 in his professional career, all fights taking place under Strikeforce. He is most recently coming off a split decision victory over K.J Noons back in January at Strikeforce: Marquardt vs. Saffiedine.

The two are set to fight this Saturday at UFC on Fuel TV 9 in Stockholm, Sweden. The card will be headlined by Sweden native and light- heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafson, as he clashes with Strikeforce light- heavyweight champion, Gegard Mousasi.
