Saturday night at UFC on FX 8, Nik Lentz managed to defeat Brazilian Hacran Dias via unanimous decision in his home country of Brazil. He even earned a 10-8 round on one particularly generous judge’s scorecard. The gravest injury he suffered came not at the fists of Dias but the scissors of the ringside doc who cut off his wraps, post fight.
In a post-fight interview, Lentz told MMAJunkie.com,:
“I got a couple marks on my face, but yeah, the doc butchered my thumb cutting off the hand wraps,” Lentz told MMAjunkie.com on Sunday. “I’ll probably have to go home and get stitches, but after that, I’ll be OK.”
After dropping to Featherweight, Nik Lentz is currently riding a three fight win streak since his Fight of the Night loss to Evan Dunham. Dunham suffered a controversial decision loss to Brazilian Rafael Dos Anjos on the same card.
