Silva’s camp told ESPN.com that the fighter had suffered from right leg pain during fight week and considering receiving an injection to relieve the pain. In a social media post on Monday, the former UFC middleweight champ seemed to hint that retirement was not in the cards.
“If you fell, get up. If it’s broken, fix it. No giving up or thinking that you can’t because you lost a battle,” he wrote. “There is one saying, I will go until the end and the more they pressure me, the more I will want to go until the end.”
Silva has won just one of his last eight Octagon appearances dating back to 2013.
