As reported by,  Earlier today UFC officials confirmed that the planned bout between Dan Henderson and Rashad Evans would be bumped up from Co-Main Event to Main Event status at the upcoming UFC 161 in Winnipeg, Canada. Both Light-heavyweights are looking to get back into the mix at 205.  Henderson saw his title shot at UFC 151 disappear  to a training injury and saw his title hopes slide even farther from his grasp with a decision loss to Lyoto Machida earlier this year. Evans has lost his last two fights: the first to the Champ, Jon Jones, and the second to Lil Nog affectionately referred to as Lil Nog, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

The switch was brought about due to a training injury suffered by interim Bantamweight champion, Renan Barao.  The interim champ was set to make the second defense of his interim title against Eddie Wineland when he injured his knee in training.  Barao is focusing on his recovery and hopes to continue his 30 fight win streak when healthy again.  There has been no word from the UFC on a plan B for Eddie Wineland.
