Your favorite/most effective sub.

Postby The Boss » Thu Apr 14, 2011 3:34 pm

I've been training BJJ for about six months now, but before that I've been following MMA since I was 13 (20 now). I was wondering what are your favorite submissions or what are the submissions that you seem to catch people in often.

I personally like my kimura from bottom. I attack when they get lazy in guard and usually catch them.

Also, there is no better feeling than getting people in a RNC. I love it  .

You can also use the kimura to sweep or use it to transition to the omoplata. Its a really good offensive position

My fave is the armbar. If I see an opening for an armbar I can't help but go for it

The Darce It works amazingly well for me, very high percentage and against high level guys. The reverse triangle is my favorite, thou is very low percentage for me.

i threaten with that while in side control. just to distract long enough to get the mount. but my most effective sub recently has been this one variation of an armbar from the back. i fake with the RNC and then i strike. but it only has real success without a gi.

Describe how you fake a RNC

^^ I would imagine he is talking about getting over/under, going the motions of a RNC and then transitioning once they make a move to defend, similar to Toquinho vs Mayhem in that video on the other thread.

Just my guess, I've been wrong before
