CSAC publishes UFC 232 fight-night weights

Postby PBells » Tue Jan 01, 2019 12:31 pm

https://www.mmafighting.com/2019/1/1/18 ... anda-nunes

Main card (PPV)

Jon Jones (204 pounds to 222.5 pounds = 8.5%) def. Alexander Gustafsson (204.5 to 219.5 = 6.4%)

Amanda Nunes (145 to 156 = 7.6%) def. Cris Cyborg (144 to 160.5 = 10.7%)

Michael Chiesa (170.5 to 188 = 9.9%) def. Carlos Condit (171 to 184.5 = 7.9%)

Corey Anderson (204.5 to 225 = 9.2%) def. Ilir Latifi (205.5 to 219 = 5.6%)

Alexander Volkanovski (145 to 166.5 = 14%) def. Chad Mendes (146 to 160.5 = 9.9%)

Prelims (FS1)

Walt Harris (258.5 to 260 = 0.5%) def. Andrei Arlovski (245.5 to 248 = 1%)

Megan Anderson (146 to 157 = 7.5%) def. Cat Zingano (144 to 156 = 6.8%)

Petr Yan (135.5 to 149.5 = 9.9%) def. Douglas Silva de Andrade (134.5 to 154.5 = 13.6%)

Ryan Hall (154 to 156 = 0%) def. BJ Penn (156 to 163.5 = 4.8%)

Prelims (UFC Fight Pass)

Nathaniel Wood (135.5 to 147 = 8%) def. Andre Ewell (135.5 to 145 = 6.6%)

Uriah Hall (185.5 to 203.5 = 9.4%) def. Bevon Lewis (186 to 194.5 = 4.6%)

Curtis Millender (170 to 183.5 = 7.3%) def. Siyar Bahadurzada (171 to 184.5 = 7.9%)

Montel Jackson (137 to 155 = 14%) def. Brian Kelleher (135 to 148 = 8.8%)

So apparently the BIGGEST LHW EVER is actually smaller than Corey Anderson and only 3 lbs. heavier than Gustafsson. Overtime and The Mauler are also ducking HW

Chiesa is gigantic and Volkanovski must be dense because Chad looked thicker than him

Apparently Volkanovski used to play rugby and was 217. Would be interested to see how much Max and Khabib weigh after the weight cut.

Jones mass is pretty much average for a LHW.

At this point even his height isn't particularly uncommon with several fighters being 6'3 and 6'4".

I don't trust these fight night weights. How many hours before the fight do they do them. No way Mendes was 160.5 I would bet my paycheck he was at least five pounds heavier.

difference is that Corey is a top 5........and that's his cealling.....

While Jones has hinted numerous times, in his career, that he will move up to HW.. and he has already cleaned up the division..... twice..

So .... he ain't no GOAT till he goes there

& No.. He is not the biggest LHW ever.. He is just ducking HW when it comes to GOAT status.

He is big enough for a HW and he is ducking it.

222 after a weighing cut.. So he is a 230 pounder (240something,maybe)

like quite a few former HW champions

forrest was coming down from 240+.. no one was asking Forrest to go to HW.

Here's Jon at 238 looking hilariously out of shape.

Funny you bring up Forrest because I've read his book and he says he was 240-250 out of camp because he likes to eat. He'd diet and exercise down to 215, cut 10 pounds of water, weigh in, then rehydrate back to 215. Jon Jones is 240 lbs full of cheeseburgers and nowhere near a gym. By the time he puts in strength/conditioning and a fight camp, he's down to 220 or less which is tiny for a HW.

Bisping said that he has worked with him before and he’s pretty big. He said he has no idea how he could make 155.

Interesting data. I was surprised Amanda was so close to Cyborg in size. Probably a huge bf difference though.
+1 to Chiesa and Volkanovski. Crazy cuts.

Sounds similar....

Fedor has fought at 227,or something,in the past.. I am sure jones can be a good 230 pounder. But cool. We can agree to disagree,on this one.
