Why is Dana so bad at picking stars?

Postby PBells » Mon Sep 10, 2018 10:25 am

The Dana White hype-machine seems to spell doom for fighters these days. Dana's Angels (Paige 'n' Sage were supposed to be the next GSP and Anderson, respectively), Rose v1 (the next Ronda), Doo Ho Choi (the next Conor), Francis Ngannou (hits harder than a Ford Escort going 450 MPH), and now Darren Till. The chosen ones tend to lose quickly and embarrassingly after. What gives?

Doo Ho Choi was my boy since before the UFC...and seeing him mentioned with these guys breaks my heart a little :-(

Dana fucking hypes up everything to ridiculous proportions.

Phillipe fucking nover was a mix between GSPs athleticism and wrestling and Anderson Silvas striking and trickery according to king goof Dana

Really the dude just needs to shut his mouth when it comes to endorsing fighters. Does anyone really take a Dana endorsement seriously? Like oh I didn't quite know about this fighter but luckily Dana said he was good so now I will pay attention. All he does is negative things when he opens his fat mouth up

Then he turns on them so quickly too. Ngannou is a pariah now In Dana's mind. If he loses the rematch with Blaydes Dana will be talking so much shit about him it will be ridiculous.

I am glad Dana is not hyping up guys like Taisumov and Volkanovski who I personally like a lot. That would just be a death sentence for them

Because Dana hates star fighters that don't do his bidding. Usually the best fighters have souls.

Because he's like a child that's entertained easily. He sees someone doing something impressive and all of a sudden, they're "great." The rest of us who actually pay attention to things like technique, skill level, and things of that nature know better.

This mr sir is right on the damn money. you said it quite well and I agree totally. I think this summarizes it pretty well. He knows the UFC has a monopoly darn near on getting the first shot at super talented fighters so when the current one he is entertained by loses he can just switch to a new one and forget it even happened
