Add Aldo to the second list. Dana demanded he drop the 145 belt if he was going to fight Pettis for his 155 belt. Sad but true. I would have loved to see Aldo be a two weight champ as I think he would have mauled Pettis.

In the future we will see a lot more 2 weight class champions as Dana has already set the precedent with Conor and GSP that defending the title is not only unnecessary but discouraged.

The shit will turn into boxing real quick. Triple weight champions started with Fitzsimmons around the turn of the century, then we did not have another for another 30 years, then we had 3, then not another for another 20 years, then we had 1, then not another for another 20 years.

By then it was the 80s and weight classes were popping up left and right, the idea of defending a belt before going up was becoming a thing of the past. That is why from the 80s on there are a fuck ton of triple weight champs, and that is why from the 80s on nobody gave a fuck about the legitimacy of triple weight champs because nobody proved they cleaned out a division anymore before they moved up or down. (for the most part)

Dana always talks shit about boxing and not repeating its mistakes, but by allowing GSP and Conor to move around willy nilly without defending the title or cleaning out the division, he is making the same mistake of delegitimizing multi weight champions. Just as boxing did. I hope I am wrong and this does not continue but we all damn well know it will.

Paindog and I criticize ONE FC for doing the same thing as well. So this is not a solely a UFC complaint on my part. Just throwing that out there

?

How does not defending your 145 title while going 1-1 with a top 5 lightweight gate keeper not constitute a legitimate title opportunity in your eyes? You must be racist. Only explanation.

Next you are going to say if Conor wanted to fight Khabib so bad why did he wait over a year and attack his bus with a dolley instead of signing on to fight him in the cage? Tflock you are exposing your racism.

Conor deserved the shot at the LW belt more than Lesnar deserves a shot at the HW belt.

Now is also the first time in ages when you have two contenders at HW in Volkov and Curtis Blaydes.

I also really think they both match up better with DC than Stipe did.

Granted Volkov had been out wrestled by Chiekh Kongo and had issues with Werdum and Nelson, but I feel he is getting better with each fight.

I think fighters whose biggest strengths are striking in the pocket or in the clinch like Stipe or Volkan are really going to struggle with DC. That distance is owned by DC and being short and quick let's him get off heavy short shots very fast.

Blaydes might be big and strong enough to actually out wrestle DC at this point.

Volkov is really rangy and his biggest strength is is striking from the outside and considering his height that would about as far away from DC's strong points, the clinch, that you can get while still engaging in unarmed combat.
