Till Offers USA Rematch To Silence Whiny ‘Wonderboy’ Fans

Darren Till had a rough couple of days.

Not only did the streaking welterweight contender miss weight for his UFC Liverpool main event, he also went five rounds against former division title contender, Stephen Thompson, only to have his unanimous decision victory called into question over hometown judging.

And one of those critics just so happened to be “Wonderboy.”

“I’d like to think of the judges as being professional and focusing on the fight and not what the fans are doing,” Thompson told The MMA Hour. “People were saying that every time a punch would whiff by you — not even make contact — the crowd was going crazy. I don’t know. That could be a possibility, yeah.”

Till walked away with controversial scores of 48-47, 49-46, 49-46.

Darren Till On A Title Shot: ‘Give It To Wonderboy’
In an effort to prove he was the better (and not more popular) man, Till recently offered to rematch Thompson in the United States, far away from the influence of his Liverpool fan base, just as soon as the promotion can get it signed.

“You’ve got all these experts out here saying this, saying that, because it was in Liverpool,” Till said. “If anyone wants me to go to America and fight Stephen again, [and] Stephen definitely wants it and he’s not injured, I can do that as soon as possible, that rematch.”

I’m sure Thompson would love to run it back and keep his place atop the 170-pound leaderboard.

In the meantime, Rafael dos Anjos and Colby Covington will collide at UFC 225 for the next crack at the 170-pound crown, currently held by Tyron Woodley, with Kamaru Usman nipping at their respective heels.

So ... who wants another round (or five) of Till vs. Thompson?
I'm so fucking high.

I agree, but I think Till gives him the business. It won't be easy, bc Usman disguises his takedowns well, but I think if he can push Usman on the back foot he will be able to distance himself, stop takedowns, and land shots.

Whether it was a hometown decision or not, the fight sucked ass and I don't see a rematch going much differently.

Here's an interesting vid that could help clear things up IMO. I had Wonderboy winning 4 - 1 in that fight and it turns out I should be right. I don't agree he did shit all in the fight. Till's strikes weren't landing any heavier until the 5th round when the knockdown happened.

Amen. Usman sucks. He's good at what he does but it's boring as fuck to watch.

Till Vs Usman would be a waste of time at this point. Both at the point where they need big name wins, fighting each other is just killing off one of their young prospects at this point. Give them a chance to build up some fans and notoriety with some wins before making that fight says me.
