Nick Newell: Give Him a Hand!

Postby DanQuinnsKnockoutJab » Sat May 12, 2018 11:50 pm

First of all, Let's congratulate Nick Newell for making it to the UFC.

Spoiler:
Image

Clapping for himself is something Newell has never been good at doing. He is an overachiever and doesn't dwell on his successes, rather, he begins chasing after some new goal.

How do you think he will do in the UFC?

Will he win hand over fist?

Will dana white lend him a hand when it comes to matchmaking?

Will he handily dismantle his opponents? Or will the caliber of fighter he will now face in the UFC be too much to handle.

Nevertheless, It is good to see anyone reach new heights despite the hand life has dealt to them. So Rock on Mr Nick Newell.

You know, I bet you and Nick could make a lot of money doing the same thing which is taking a pounding. Difference is, your calling is porn.

DQKJ is just mad because Newells one hand is bigger than both of his put together.
And you know what they say about guys with small hands

He rules with a tiny iron fist.
And before you get mad, I'm Canadian, I would've voted boothead though.

Is Nick Newell one of the MMA fighters who is truly deadly in hand to hand combat?
DQKJ I bet Newell beats you with one hand tied behind his back....
Do we call it a hand?

But in all seriousness I sense DQKJs insecurities and i get it, cripples shouldn't be able to best us but Newell is a great fighter.
This isn't like Kyle Maynard where he literally and figuratively doesn't have a leg to stand on, Newell is legit, celebrated and decorated.
If we had a minor leagues he'd be a champ, if he gets to the UFC just feed him Artem and he's for sure got a UFC win.
If he fought at HW we'd be talking about him becoming a contender but at LW he's top 25 maybe.
Give him Sage; it'll be competitive.
What I'd like to see is UFC fully endorse grappling events during their PPV and fully endorse Newell as a grappler, it's a spectacle plus talent.

Hand it to Linkers like speakeasy to ham-handedly assume that my posts on this thread are born from some outwardly or inwardly pointed malice.

It is my love for colorful expressions along with my yearning for MMA knowledge that are the origins of this thread.

So with outstretched hands I ask you to please refrain from directly insulting me.

If the insults continue I want you to know I will raise my hands in surrender because my intentions were never to argue.

Speakeasy,

I agree that nick will have a hard time getting his hand raised fighting ranked opposition in the UFC.

Imagine what Barbosa would do to him.

I hope the match makers start him off fighting new ufc signees.

Jesus if you put Newell against a guy like Barboza(why the fuck do people spell it with an S am I the retard?) But a fight against the likes of top 10-15 LWS like Barboza means it's all hand on deck for Nick.
Now it's not likely Nick would refuse any offer Dana gives him; less he bite the hand that feeds him but I expect Nick to be a dab hand during his contenders fight.
To see Nick succeed, first-hand, would be something beautiful and I only hope to see him gain the upper hand on the lower echelon of the LW division.
I'd love to see him work hand in glove with the UFC to further awareness on disabilities like congenital amputees like Nick.

Hand it to speakeasy to run with the baton when it’s handed to him.

At first i thought Nick would get handled pretty easily by any Barbosa caliber striker, until i took into consideration that Nick still has his arm past the elbow joint, which means he can still block head kicks. Although he must have adapted his game to work well in mma, one way or another, there is still a good chance he will eventually loose pretty bad and not last. I would love nothing more than for him to prove my opinion wrong, as we all love the ultimate underdog story. However, its highly unlikely, even if he does prove me wrong and does great, that he will have any real chance of one day becoming a champion in the ufc, as he has previously done in the organization he came from. I only say thins because any high level guy, will exploit his disadvantage. I mean, the guy has 1 and a half arms for God sake. I wish him the best, and i hope he wins.
