What's the difference between training and competition MMA gloves? Is it just that training gloves have more padding?

If my friends and I just want to fight for fun in the backyard, what gloves do you guys recommend?

I was thinking these UFC training gloves

Or these UFC competition gloves

BONUS QUESTION:
1)
Do red gloves make it easier for the opponent to see the punches coming?

2)

If you wear gloves in a fight, does it protect you or the opponent more?

Thanks :D

[B1] Perhaps it may, but I doubt it.

[B2] Pending on what gloves you're wearing. If you wear just regular gloves not sparing or whatever it protects your hands from getting cut and what not I suppose. I dunno if it would protect your opponent though

1. Training gloves are usually bigger (weigh more) and offer more padding so you dont harm your opponent as much. However the gloves you posted look to be the same weight as the competition gloves so I would imagine its a different material that makes it different.
2. If you guys are are just boxing or kickboxing I would buy 16-18 ounce gloves, because most guys get out of control once they start sparring and really let their punches go, and if you use 4 ounce gloves (mma gloves) someone will probably get messed up. If both of you train however, then this shouldnt be a problem.
If you guys are going to grapple and strike then I think you can get 8 ounce training gloves that amatuer mma fighters use that wont deal as much damage.

1b. I doubt it
2b You will punch reasonably harder with mma gloves on. Especially if you wrap your hands underneath the glove, this will essentially turn your hands into clubs and you wont feel a thing when you strike.

You need some of these:

Both your opponents face and your hands will be well protected.

Very dirty business indeed.
