Fighters who let you down / disappoint you

Postby warriorxv » Mon May 16, 2022 4:07 am

Who are fighters that look or speak the walk, but don’t walk the walk for you?

Fighters that seem to almost always let you down when it comes to telling friends, or placing bets or just wanting someone to win?

This is a very random and very good example. He almost never fought up to his talent level. I think he still fights like once every other year for Bellaturd or some shit.

I was incredibly let down by Cro Cops initial UFC run. That was not fun to see him get knocked out by total fuckheads like Schaub and Murrrrrr

Would you believe his 54-year-old dad has fought more recently?

How the fuck he gets booked still is beyond me. I guess people want to see him get beat up for the whole hotel maid incident? No other reason to book that old man.

Not familiar with this incident… Maybe it’s a good thing he’s 11-16?

Shogun

I can forgive a lot about his ufc run. He was a shell of his former self. Losing to Sonnen the way he did was awful. I never thought i would witness that.

I agree unfortunately, seeing Shogun getting submitted by Sonnen was really hard to watch.. He had good wars and wins in the UFC but way too many nonsense losses and after his run in Pride, I was expecting the moon from him.

I'll add Marlon Moraes. He had a great run in WSOF, came to the UFC and lost, fine. He adapted and I really thought he could beat anyone at BW as he got 4 good wins. After that, things went downhill really fast and he never lived up to his potential anymore. Really wanted more from him somehow. Glad he retired recently.

Shogun losing to Chael in the way that he lost was so deflating, even with Shogun being as shopworn as he was even back then.

I foresaw him surviving/outlasting a few grappling exchanges and then battering a low willed Chael later on. Nope, he just got totally schooled and looked like an absolute amateur.
