Some good fights overall, the prelims were fun. Henry vs Barcelos was quite surprising and my fight of the night.

Brandon vs Fig was still pretty good but it lacked the intensity of their 2 previous fights. Brandon got dropped just too often and I agree that Fig won that fight. I am not interested to see a 4th fight right away though. Let Fig defend against others.

Ngannou vs Gane... I feared it would turn out boring, but this was another level... Horrible skills on the feet from Ngannou and the ground game from both of them was just sad. Ngannou might be injured bad indeed, but still not a win in my book. They made the HW division sink even further with no skills display whatsoever.

I would never pay 1$ to watch Francis box, he has no place in a boxing ring with a real pro, let alone a champ.

I gotta say, Gane really disappointed me with his fight IQ in this one, and they both disappointed me with their lack of cardio (they merely seemed to coast after an early adrenaline dump, which is the antithesis of most of Gane's fights at least). How many times did Gane throw a lazy ass kick with little to no setup? Who the fuck does that against a power puncher? Ngannou SHOULD have bombed him out any number of times, but he didn't have the gas to do so. That version of Ngannou loses to Stipe 8/10 times.

Considering Ngannou and Gane looked like two white belts rolling around for the majority of the fight....perhaps.

Ngannou will probably be sidelined for the next 6-9+ months anyway if his knee is really damaged. I can see Dana arranging another interim belt between the winner of Lewis vs Tuivasa against Jon Jones or another hw bum to fuck Ngannou again

The division is in complete shamble, even more than before, if it is even possible...

If Ngannou is not actually in bad shape, let him fight Jones, pay both of them accordingly so that they stop crying and that should generate again some interest for the HW division.

In any case, DW sounds mad and that amuses me.

Considering how fucked up Ngannous knee was I thought he did what he had to. Gane on the other hand did not look good at all. Especially fighting a dude with a pretty much entirely blown out knee.

Slaping low kick, push kicks, I think he threw like 5 punches combined. Gane was clearly trying to low kick his way to a UD with fast low kicks that slap and do not damage much, aka he was trying to trick the judges into a decision victory.

I hope when Ngannou comes back after the knee surgery he can recover well. I imagine he will probably wreck whoever the fuck is next for him in this thin ass division.

People like to exaggerate the sports evolution. Acting like the stars of the past would all be in over their heads with the newer generation BROTHER.

A lot of times it is indeed the case. But not all the time and far from it.

Shamrock would have taken these two dudes down and broken a leg or choked them out cold. That ground game was really bad to watch last time.

Granted Ngannou was fighting on one knee. A healthy Ngannou is a way different fighter.

Gane gets subbed regardless by Kenny though. Unless he can low kick and jog his way to a UD and somehow never get taken down the whole time. Not very likely.
