Its doesn't matter which fighter is more overrated, a ref had to save Conor's life twice. In the first fight Nate choked shit down Conor's leg, ref had to save him. Rewatch the 2nd fight, end of round 5 Nate had Conor mounted raining down blows on him until the ref pulled him off and Nate had to help Conor to his feet. In a street fight Nate kills Conor.

They aren't overrated. I've never heard their name in goat discussions or even champ discussions. They just have a lot of fans that love watching them fight regardless of their record. And for good reason

That's because they had their chance several years ago. When Nick was champ in Strikeforce some of his fans thought he had a good chance to take the title from GSP. His fans also believed Nate had a decent shot with Benson.

If you want me to point fingers then very well. Dipset and reasontat are obviously the guys who thought this way the most. They can be a tad rabid in support of them.

I do agree that they've never been in the running for a GOAT discussion.

He beat the FW champion at 170lbs jumping up not one but two weight divisions, which is simply an extremely rare occurrence when it comes to this high level of competition. That's a fact, not making excuses, just pointing out the fact that this was clearly a disadvantage for McGregor being that he'd never fought above 155lbs and so what Nate took the fight on short notice, we see guys win fights taken on short notice a bunch in the history of top shelf MMA. And, so what Conor had a rough time cutting to 145, so did Jose Aldo, Dustin Poirier, the current champ Holloway!! but they all get a pass? Only a casual scumbag would think this way . Double standards. Plain and simple.

He then corrects the mistakes he made in the first fight and avenges the loss with a clear UD victory.

Then goes on to become the first UFC fighter to hold belts in two divisions simultaneously, "Both Diaz bro's resume's are better than Conor."

Nick has a solid resume in two weight divisions, but Nate having a better resume than Conor? That's a negative.

I think it depends on the context in which you view either the Diaz brothers or Conor

In terms of action fighters, fun promos, not giving a fuck, entertaining fights, etc the Diaz brothers are far from overrated.

In terms of putting on fun fights, promos, hyping up a fight and creating a business out of yourself, Conor is far from overrated.


in terms of how their fans view them. Both the Diaz brothers and Conor are overrated. I think all 3 are a bit overrated in terms of fighting ability in general to be honest. A lot of that comes down to style and timing though. The Diaz brothers would have always struggled to win a title in the UFC because the UFC caters to and has so many high level athletes who can drain out a clock and win rounds via crotch sniffing. Conor was never going to defend a title because he would have to fight guys who weren't Eddie Alvarez who would have been massive matchup problems for a guy with pretty limited cardio and 1 sided boxing

One thing Conor is certainly underrated on is being a racist. Guys like Dana straight up cower from admitting it and always obfuscate responsibility away from Conor by saying he was just playing a character. Which as we all know is beta male talk for "he doesn't have the balls to be held accountable for his own actions, kinda like when he got kicked out of team SBG for stealing money and had to have his MOMMY call in the gym and BEG Kavanaugh to take her son back."
