Nick Diaz is retired which means that he would have to reapply for a license and get back in the Usada drug testing pool which will take time for him being illegible to compete.

Masvidal is at an all-time high point in his career. With two bigger fights possibly on the horizon:

- Covington if he gets passed Usman for the WW title and they could play up BMF vs WW champ
- McGregor if he gets past his january opponent and wants to fight Masvidal.

If both men lose or McGregor prefers to fight a Nurmagomedov or someone else. Usman vs Masvidal would likely be a fight the UFC would rather make as well, Masvidal as the UFC champ would be a commercial hit at the moment.

Perhaps I'm underestimating the star power Nick Diaz still possess. But he's been out for a very long time and hasn't got a win in like 8 years, a lot of the new generation MMA fans might know him because of Nate Diaz.

IIRC Nick has been the testing pool for over a year now, he's just never fought...

Yea I'd say your definetly underestimating diaz' s star power. Both of them would make a fortune off this fight. Nick saw that big ass bag of cash nate walked out with and said fck it lets do it

Masvidal is in a even better situation. He can cash in big on a super easy fight, boost his brand, and still have all of those options you mentioned.

He'd be a fool not to do everything he can to book this fight. And clearly he's no fool

Well this is what I wasn't to say about Nate... and Nick for that matter.

Nick: take this fight with masvidal. Win, lose or draw just cash in open a gym and train they next champ. You've taken enough damage and thou have knowledge and wisdom to train and develop young fighters.

Nate: If you can't cut to 155 then take that same advice I gave Nick. He's too small for 170... ask Rory McDonald. Masvidal was clearly much stronger. And Usman, Covington, mavsidal, and woodly are way too strong for him too.

At 155 I honestly think he could beat khabib... maybe. He's a can at 170
