Fedor
Jones
Silva
GSP

Fedor because IMO specialists at HW are inherently more dangerous than in the rest of the divisions. He's a grappling guy who can strike, high-percentage finisher, and has beaten high-level strikers, high-level wrestlers, and high-level grapplers. When he went for a sub, it's very rare he didn't get it. He just executed everything so damn well.

Jones is probably the most cerebral fighter I've ever seen. It was a blast seeing him evolve from precocious prospect to youngest UFC champ even if it was at the expense of one of my all-time favorite fighters. Many have talked up how they're going to beat him but then shut down in the fight. Other than totaling that beautiful Bentley, I don't give a fuck what he's done outside the cage and don't buy into the JJDS.

Silva is another one of my favorite fighters ever. He's done things in the cage that we're unlikely to ever see again. Another high-percentage finisher and at one point had a GOAT chin. He's also beaten and destroyed all types of opponents and has entertained more often than not (bird-demon possessions aside).

GSP... I've never been too into him. Won't deny his talent and he smashed the hell out of some guys early on. For someone with no collegiate or even high school wrestling experience, he took to it amazingly and really integrated it into his style. The way he blends striking and wrestling gave everyone trouble. I'll always respect him for beating the shit out of Fitch and sending Bisping packing from MW.

Just the fact that his last defence was a spit decision win, shows a lot.

Fedor would either murk people or get murked.

noone would ever stand a chance of getting the nod at even one of the 3 judges, when fighting a prime Fedor.

32-0. Against HWs.

Jones is one of the best LHWs, along with Wanderlei Silva

Anderson is the GOAT MW, along with Frank Shamrock and Mousasi

St Pierre is the #3 GOAT WW, after Royce Gracie and Matt Hughes.

And BJ is the GOAT LW

How do you figure Bas Rutten and Aldo into your views on this?

Also I need to know what your thoughts on phillyhoffman are and why you consider him not the super heavyweight goat?

Thanks

Hello Sir. Hello Mr Cat, Gentleman, Sir. I wish I remembered that fag's name who I've named as the new 'Hoff'.

Bass Rutten!

He can never be wrong. Except. He never really learned how to succesfully defend takedown attempts, against elite grapplers.

You can see him claiming that he did.... But his last fight,b4 the end.. With Kevin Randleman, showed that his tkdown defence wasn't 'elite'.

So.. Would he lose to Ricco Rodriguez, even though he ko'ed him in practice?

Propably.

Would he lose to Big Nog.

Maybe yes,Maybe no.

Would he lose to Crocop?

Maybe yes,maybe no.

I could go on for ages....(did he lose twice to Ken?yes he did.Is there anything in the whole wide world that he could do,do get away from the kneebar that he lost to, in the second fight..?No, as long as Ken remained stronger than him.) but i rank him higher than Ken ,cause of the latter part of Ken's career)

So all things concerned I think that Bassito deserves a place in the top 5. (ill hook u up with a thread I made 10 years ago, where I had him at #2, but originaly @ 4-changed my mind literally b4 I posted the 'list')

HWs

1)Fedor
2)Big Nog-Werdum
3)Crocop - rutten
4)Barnett-Kharitanov-JDS-Cain
5)Randleman-Couture-Perdo Rizzo
6)Ken-Funaki-Royce Gracie

Aldo.

He is by far the best FW to ever step on planet Earth. Conor needed to fight him again to attempt to prove that he is better, Holloway did so, but it was too late.. What I mean..? Aldo has been dominant since 'for-ever'. Since he was 19 years old. In the spot light.

Holloway is a close second and if he beats his next 7-10 opponents, he can be a true hardcore contestant for Aldo's GOAT status.

Now that's a list lol.

And I feel the same way about gsp. Never really liked him a ton but I got much respect. He edged out aldo, mouse, and a few others

So fckd up but true

I can respect that

I think mighty mouse belongs in the conversation because he's a true finisher and he won many fights against elite fighters in two divisions. (And he was robbed against cejudo)

I think the whole level of competition is bullshit. Sure fw lw ww are deepest but I think 125 was at least as deep the other divisions. GSP and a JBJ fought much bigger names but big names come more from likeability than skill. And I think finishing should weigh heavily because this is combat.
I don't Wana write an essay on this I just really feel you gotta prove youre the champ. Judges shouldn't be part of title bouts imho. Unless someone clearly wins every part of the fight it's hard to really say who won half the time.

Jones has finished just two of his last 8 fights both of which were rematches. GSP finished 1 of 9 title defenses and his one victory outside welterweight was against a blind man. He even admitted the game plan was to Target the bad eye. I see no honor in George's but eh, props to him for winning so much. I got nothing bad to say about silva, the guy was a real champion. Fedor is Fedor.

Rethinking it I guess I'd say
1fedor
2silva
3mouse
4jones
5georges

Now everybody has an opinion but before u post some bullshit about a damn cejudo or mcjagger, realize this thread ain't for u and politely keep it pushin.

For the few remaining geniuses with half a brain, how would you order them. Setting aside all the pico and court stuff. We're taking strictly in the cage. And I know that's asking allot but challenge yourself haha.

I'm asking this cuz I'm considering putting Jones above fedor. Never thought I'd see the day... so I'm like

Fedor/ Jones
Silva
GSP

Jones has the most impressive resume but...

Its hard for me personally to downplay blatant cheating, and 3 of the names on that list have been credibly accused of that.

So...

Who are the 3, as far as I know only Jones and SIlva have failed drug tests.

As far as the OP goes

GSP because he arguably beat better competition than everyone on that list with the exception being Jon. He avenged all his losses, is the most well rounded fighter in the sport. And didnt retire on a losing streak, and doesnt have one unlike Anderson and Fedor.

Jon Jones would be second, I would place him at first, but his career is still in progress and we dont know how it will end. If he retires undefeated then sure he is no.1 but one thing you can say is GSP passed drug tests if that matters to you. Personally I think the drug test argument isnt a very good one. Would anyone here place Liddell over Jones because Liddell never failed a drug test? Guys in the UFC and PRIDE werent even being tested. At least like they are now.

Anderson Silva- just because I feel like on a slight margin he beat better fighters than Fedor. Even now , Anderson is fighting more relevant fighters than Fedor.

Fedor the guy is amazing and went undefeated for 10 years. I can understand why people rate him as no.1 but personally dont agree with given his losses in Strikeforce, and recent performances. Even if you want to turn a blind eye to his performances recently, you cant deny his strikeforce losses. I dont like how people just dont count any of his losses just because they believe at his best he wouldnt have lost to Bigfoot or any fighter in his division.

I have Aldo over Anderson and Fedor, but since OP wants to stick to those 4 fighters. I will do that.
