Is being the biggest and longest in the division the key to dominating it?

This is one of the meow reasons why i love mma. combat sports in general

Within the context of staying somewhat close to the same weight of course

It does not matter which frame you have, it is how you use it.

Everyone from people with frames like Hughes or Kid Yamammamamamamotttto to Jones and Semy Schilt and Meow Mcguffsterson have all successedeed.

It is cool. There are tons of fighters with massive reach and size advantages who did not turn out to be shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Giant Gan fuckstick Mcgee or whatever the fuck that dudes name was. JEssamyn Duke, Stefan Struve, whoever you look at.

Let us all remember. He who meows last meows loudest. Thank you

Or something.
Officially 8-2 in sig bets. *pats back* 5 time A league champion. :gold: :gold: :gold: :gold: :gold:

It's not the tools, it's how you use them.

That's why guys like Fedor, Penn and DC aren't scared to fight in any weight class w/o using dick pills and TRT.

DC is more massive than Jones.

You should include the Diaz brothers on your list since they also usually have a height and reach advantage, which they tend to use well.

Only when skill and training are at similar levels. But we have plenty of examples of fighters with size, height, or reach advantages getting destroyed for not knowing how to use it. Or exhaustion with tough weight cuts/poor conditioning.

Let's not forget Luke Rockhold rising to the top of 185 until they discovered he has no chin.

I agree with the rest....you 've got to know how to use your tools. It's all about the mental game with prons and cons for any body type.

Struve is really the only example of not utilizing his reach and size advantage but he does however have a great submission game and a nasty TKO win over Stipe.

Even Nate Diaz fully utilized his reach and size advantage to make a title run and to beat McGregor twice. I can't think of any other fighters that meet the reach and size advantage criteria that didn't flourish other than Struve. Struve just fights like a brawler but he still has the tools to be a HW champ.
