Rear Naked Choke: Three Most Common Errors

We all need some place we can go away to, some place where we can be who we should have been instead of who we are.

For me this is the bread and butter choke. You NEED to be able to do this perfect. Ive drilled this into my son who is only 8 and he is a master at it, i tap every single time. His RNC is better than most mens.
Also, depending on what your training for, its wise to tuck your head in. We used to fight with very few rules and headbutts were acceptable, so if your training for streetfighting or "less rules mma" be careful to tuck your head in or you can receive a backwards headbutt.
I can perform miracles. I just dont want to.

I got a question for this. When i do it this choke on someone else it is both a blood choke and an air choke. I line up their chin with the crook of my elbow like your supposed to but when i squeeze my bicep cuts off their airway as well. Is this normal or is this choke supposed to only be an air choke? Thanks for any help.

It's a blood choke. There will be some pressure on the trachea from the crook of your elbow but it is the pressure on the carotid arteries that causes unconsciousness.

Honestly this Sub Forum needs some cleaning up, so I'm just posting on here to bring up this great thread. Any tips to get out of this once its already in?

I think you'd have to catch it in transition. Once he has it locked down you're pretty much fucked so you'd have to avoid it before it gets to that point.
