Learning how to take a hit

Postby MidNightClub » Thu Mar 24, 2011 1:05 am

so i don't train or anything but every once in a while i spar with a buddy and when ever i do i just can't take a hit to the face. i don't like being a brock lesnar when ever i spar. oh and another thing i get pretty bad neck pain so it hurts more when my head gets hit, but ill get that fixed up soon.

so i heard bas rutten saying something about just letting someone hit you for a bit to get used to it, or is it really simple and that i should just spar more often.

Letting someone hit you in the face is kinda a half-way-there solution.

Here are some tips I saw in another forum:

Offense is the best defense. And if you spar, you'll get hit no matter if you like it or not and during the process you'll learn to accept it as a part of the sport. No matter how good you are, you will ALWAYS get hit from time to time. It's just the way it is. The faster you accept it, the faster you'll stop being tentative.
