Honestly, You should get these first http://www.cartwheelfactory.com/puzzle- ... e_mats.jpg

I see a lot of dojo's on a budget with them and I personally own 5 by 5 metres of it and it is pretty cheap. 4 squares for 14.99$ here at home depot (in canada we get ripped off). They're safe enough for kids to fall on without getting hurt - so the impact is fine.

I wouldn't pile drive anyone on it - but it's really good for rolling - it's also soft on the skin so when you're rolling you can easily shrimp and get good hip movement for armbars etc. (I hate mats with tons of friction)

anyways - just suggesting you don't waste your money. The others are probably better and will support bigger impact but the price seems a bit steep. You could spend 100-130$ and get the entire area completely covered and spend the rest of your budget on privates or you could even double it with puzzle mats. - or if you really want one of the two you mentioned - I would pick flexiroll and put it on top of the puzzle mats for full protection.

In the end you could avoid shipping costs by going to home depot and picking that up.

I purchased my mats at matsmatsmats.com. They sell remnant mats, which are perfectly good for home use. I was able to get a high quality 10ftX10ft mat (comes in two parts) for under $500. It's great for rolling if you only have two people.

My kid has these, I guess they could be good for rolling on, never thought of that. A 10'x10' square would be about $150, not bad.
