January 2016 LHW Rankings

Postby hawdrigoh » Sat Dec 26, 2015 3:45 pm

Jon Jones
Daniel Cormier
Anthony Johnson
Ryan Bader
Phil Davis
Glover Teixiera
Alexander Gustafsson
Liam McGeary
Rashad Evans
Ovince St. Preux

Jon Jones - obvious #1 (should drop out next month though due to inactivity)

Daniel Cormier - current champ, beaten everyone except Jones

Anthony Johnson - only recent loss is to Cormier...beaten Gustafsson and Davis

Ryan Bader - 5 fight win streak with wins over St. Preux, Davis, Evans

Phil Davis - Only two losses are to Bader and Johnson...beaten Teixiera, Machida, Carmont, Newton.

Glover Teixiera - Only two losses are to Davis and Jones, beaten everyone they've put in front of him

Alexander Gustafsson - 1-3 in last 4 but the losses were to the top 3 Jones, Cormier, and Johnson. Still a stud, just can't get over the hump in the big fights.

Liam McGeary - Undefeated 11-0 with wins over Newton and Ortiz in last two fights. Hopefully he fights some better competition to move up the rankings.

Rashad Evans - 2-2 in last 4 with losses to Lil Nog and Bader, and wins over Sonnen and Henderson.

Ovince St. Preux - 2-2 in last 4 with losses to Bader and Teixiera with wins over Cummins and Shogun.

You think Rampage is ranked higher than McGeary?

Oh yeah. Rampage is on a 4-fight win streak, over King Mo, M'Pumbu, Beltran and Maldonado. Sure, he lost 3 in a row before that, but those were to Jon Jones (duh), Bader and Teixeira (and both of those last were by decision). Those guys are the some of the best in the world right now, or in Jones' case, the best LHW ever.

McGeary's biggest win is over Tito. I'm not saying he sucks, dude is undefeated and I would rank him #11 (either him or David Branch, anyway). If he fights Phil Davis and wins, he will be Top 10 at that point in my book.

So, you know, Dana White wants to say something? Let’s see him get in there and fight. Let’s see him fight somebody who’s a championship fighter and let’s see how many punches he throws in a round. Things change when you’re fighting the best guys in the world.
