Quick View
Werdum
Velasquez
Arlovski
Browne
Overeem
Miocic
JDS
Rothwell
Barnett
Hunt

Explanations
Werdum - Clearly the top guy right now. 3 wins in a row against top 10 fighters, including the #2 guy.

Velasquez - Was dominating everyone (or at least two guys) for a while. Showed he isn't invincible, but others must prove they are better than him still.

Arlovski - 6 fight win streak including wins against Mir, Browne and Silva.

Browne - Only recent loses are to the #1 and #3 guys on this list. He has a huge stoppage wins against Reem, Barnett, Schaub and Gonzaga.

Reem - Got beat by Browne and Rothwell but now has 3 wins in a row including a stoppage of JDS. KOing JDS still means something in my book.

Miocic- 4-1 in his last 5 fights. His only loss was a very close fight against JDS. His wins aren't huge but still very good against the likes Nelson, Gonzaga and Hunt. Has a huge fight coming against Arlovski that could jump him up the rankings.

Dos Santos - He could probably be higher but he's hardly even been active. In his last three fights he was KOd by Reem, won a very close decision over Miocic and was TKOd by Cain. He is still a threat to anyone, but needs to retake his top five ranking, I am not giving it to him based on who he was 3 years ago.

Rothwell - Seems to be a ton of talk about this guy. He is a very good fighter with 3 wins in a row. Reem is a big win, but Mitrione and Vera aren't the best, add in the fact he only has those 3 fights in the 3 years since his loss to Gonzaga and he still has some work to do.

Barnett - I consider him pretty much interchangeable with Rothwell in this spot. He is in the #9 slot though because Ben has a bigger win recently. They are fighting each other in January though so this should sort itself out soon.

Hunt - He is 3*-3 in his last 6 fights so why is he up this high? Well his 3 loses are to #1, #6 and #7. His 3* wins (*draw agaisnt a roider) are against pretty credible opponents Silva and Nelson. He is aging but IMO is a very solid #10 HW.

Here we go!

1. Fabricio Werdum (fairly obvious...)

2. Cain Velasquez (took the clear loss to Werdum but still the no. 2 in my opinion)

3. Andrei Arlovski (on a good tear right now (6 fight win streak) with wins over Schaub, Bigfoot, Browne, Mir)

4. Stipe Miocic (since the loss to Struve he's gone 4-1 with the only L being a close war with JDS)

5. Travis Browne (4-3 in his last 7 but pretty stiff competition...wins over Gonzaga, Overeem, Barnett, Schaub)

6. Alistair Overeem (3 fight win streak with a recent big win over JDS)

7. JDS (2-3 in his last 5 but against top competition)

8. Ben Rothwell (beaten some decent fighters recently, with a nice win against Overeem...still hasn't fought any of the top guys yet).

9. Josh Barnett (losses to Browne and Cormier but otherwise pretty solid as always).

10. Mark Hunt (2-3-1 in his last 6 but fighting the top guys)

So, you know, Dana White wants to say something? Let’s see him get in there and fight. Let’s see him fight somebody who’s a championship fighter and let’s see how many punches he throws in a round. Things change when you’re fighting the best guys in the world.
