Stalled and went backwards on the bench.. fack this is some bullshit.

200 for 3x5 is solid! What was your bench when you stalled?

Fucking stupid

My bench was 170, now it is down to 160 and struggling (3x5)
Seriously, why did my shoulder sockets hurt so much? Is that normal for that to normally happen? I literally had to reset before some attempts because the pain was so uncomfortable.

sounds like you need to rest your shoulders for a while.

are you gripping the bench wide? maybe you need a form check

Try this:

Specifically what he starts doing around 3:30. I use a lacrosse ball underneath the shoulder too, but i'd work up to that. Be EXTREMELY careful when you do this. It's effective but progress slowly if you do it.

I'm probably going to get a form check here soon.
I've been trying to foam roll every night, maybe my upper body mobility work has been lacking. I don't feel sore, I just have a hard time putting the weight up? Maybe I should deload?
How big is a laX ball?
Do you think the bench load decreasing and the pain in the shoulder socket are related?

It could certainly be related. I would rest the shoulders for a two or three weeks......no overheads or bench. Then, when you start back benching try using a closer grip. Intially the closer grip will relate in less weight lifted, but over time you will work your way back up. Lots of knowledgable guys say that using a closer grip will keep one from having shoulder issues. The closer grip works the triceps and inner chest more and the shoulders less.

I tried a closer grip today. Took about a week off.. I just hate taking time off, lowered the weights down a lot.

Great to be off the smith machine, getting use to the free weights, glad to be doing this for real now. Lifting at the YMCA, it is like a highschool weight lifting gym! That I don't have to pay for!

Smith Machines are terrible. You will make some great gains now that you can lift properly.

It's getting better, I just never experience that kind of pain from squatting. Going to workout tomorrow I'll let you know how it feels.
