Any vids/literature/photos or any advice anyone can give to help a guy defend this?

Defense in terms of how to stabalize yourself and regain your balance. How to avoid getting swept and him getting on top....etc.

The recent UFC fan expo with Ulysses Gomez vs. Rumina Sato is a prime example.

Nobody frees their leg that easily. Unless they are fighting someone on their first day.

This technique doesn't look that effective. With his arm trapped the way it is in that 'double wizzer' bs he takes away his only option for a base if his opponent chooses to sweep him in that direction.

I'll have to give it a shot next time I get a chance to roll but I just do not see how this would not end up badly against a good half guard guy.
We all need some place we can go away to, some place where we can be who we should have been instead of who we are.

Sprawl, keep your weight on the guy and don't over commit to anything until you have him flattened out. If he gets a hold of your free leg or if he establishes wrist control then you are getting swept and there's not much you can do about it. Keep those limbs free until, and I can't stress this enough, your opponent is flat on his back.

Agreed. There was nothing forcing the guy on the bottom to let him pass. He just let him.
