UFC on FOX 4: Shogun vs. Vera
UFC on FOX 4: Shogun vs. Vera (previously known as UFC on FOX 4: Stann vs. Lombard) is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on August 4, 2012 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
An undisclosed injury to Chad Griggs forced him to be pulled from his bout with Phil Davis. Griggs was replaced by Wagner Prado. In addition an injured Pablo Garza was replaced by Rani Yahya and Terry Etim by Jamie Varner.
After Hector Lombard was removed from the card to replace Michael Bisping at UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao, the UFC announced that the new headliner would be Mauricio Rua vs. Brandon Vera.
A Flyweight bout between Ian McCall and John Moraga was briefly scheduled for the event before McCall withdrew due to a knee injury. McCall was replaced by Ulysses Gomez.
A Heavyweight bout between Rob Broughton and Matt Mitrione was scratched so that Broughton could deal with personal issue. That bout was rescheduled for UFC on FX 5: Browne vs. Silva in October 2012.
An ankle injury, forced Ben Rothwell to pull out of his main card bout with Travis Browne.
