On January 14, 2011, it was announced that Maiquel Jose Falcao Goncalves was forced to withdraw from the card due to an undisclosed injury. Rafael Natal will step in and face Alessio Sakara.
On January 19, 2011, Fighters Only reported that Alexandre Ferreira withdrew from his bout with Rousimar Palhares for personal reasons due to the loss of friends and family following the horrible floods that ravaged Brazil in mid-January. The following day, MMA Junkie reported that Dave Branch has agreed to replace Ferreira.
On January 27, 2011, MMA Junkie reported that Paulo Thiago was scratched from the card due to an undisclosed injury. At the time, no replacement for his scheduled opponent Johny Hendricks was named.
On February 12, 2011, MMA Junkie reported that Francisco Rivera was scratched from the card due to an undisclosed injury. At the time, no replacement for his scheduled opponent Takeya Mizugaki was named. Three days later MMA Junkie reported that [[King of the Cage Standout Reuben Duran, had been signed by the UFC to fight Mizugaki.
Also on February 12, Versus.com reported that Natal was forced to withdraw from his bout Sakara due to a knee injury. Two days later, HeavyMMA announced that Ring of Combat Middleweight Champion, Chris Weidman would replace Natal.
On February 23, 2011 MMA Junkie reported that that Cub Swanson suffered an undisclosed injury and training and withdrew from his bout with Erik Koch. Koch is expected to fight in a future UFC event.
