On February 19, 2011 UFC president Dana White announced that Tito Ortiz has been forced out of the UFC Fight Night 24 main event, and Phil Davis has been tapped as a replacement opponent for Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Later that day MMA Junkie reported that a knee injury suffered in training has forced Dennis Hallman to bow out of a preliminary card matchup with T.J. Waldburger.
On March 14, 2011 UFC officials announced that The Ultimate Fighter 9: United States vs. United Kingdom DaMarques Johnson would replace Wilks and become the third scheduled opponent for Sadollah at the event.
