UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao
UFC 149: Faber vs. Barao (previously known as UFC 149: Aldo vs. Koch) is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on July 21, 2012 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. It will become the first event that the UFC has held in Alberta.

A bout between Michael Bisping and Tim Boetsch, originally scheduled for UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen 2, was moved to this event to bolster the card.
On June 1, 2012, UFC officials announced that both Thiago Alves and Thiago Silva had been scratched from the card due to injury. Alves was replaced by Chris Clements.
An injury to Jose Aldo forced a postponement of his championship bout against challenger Erik Koch. The Interim Bantamweight Championship Bout between Urijah Faber and Renan Pegado was moved from UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen 2 two weeks earlier to headline the card.
A rumored fight between Bibiano Fernandes and Roland Delorme fell through because Fernandes did not sign a deal with the UFC.
Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira had to pull out of the event because his broken arm had not fully healed and was replaced by Shawn Jordan on the main card.
In late June, injuries to George Roop and Siyar Bahadurzada led to their being replaced by Daniel Pineda amd Matt Riddle, respectively.
The injuries continued into July, as Claude Patrick had to be replaced by Brian Ebersole
