UFC 143: Diaz vs. Condit
UFC 143 :Diaz vs. Condit (originally named UFC 143: St. Pierre vs. Diaz) is an upcoming mixed martial arts event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on February 4, 2012 at a to be announced location in Las Vegas, Nevada.
For the second time a main event Welterweight Championship Bout between Georges St. Pierre and Nick Diaz had to be scrapped (UFC 137: Penn vs. Diaz was the first), when St. Pierre tore his ACL. Carlos Condit who had originally been scheduled to face Josh Koscheck replaced St. Pierre in the main event, and the UFC will put the Interim Welterweight Championship on the line.
Additionally, when Erik Koch was forced off of the card due to injury Ricardo Lamas was tabbed as a replacement to fight Dustin Poirier. Lamas was later from the event as well.
An injured Amir Sadollah was replaced on the card by Matt Riddle, who was a night of the event scratch due to illness at UFC 141: Lesnar vs. Overeem. During the week of the fight, the UFC announced that Riddle's opponent, Jorge Lopez, had been replaced by Henry Martinez.
An undisclosed injury forced Mike Stumpf off the card and was replaced by undefeated welterweight prospect Stephen Thompson. A later injury to Justin Edwards resulted in an opponent change for Thompson as well, UFC newcomer Dan Stittgen
