Mixed Martial Arts Career
Longacre moved to professional mixed martial arts after competing in the WCL, in 2008. His first two bouts took place at Extreme Fighting League events. His first fight was in November of that year, and he defeated his opponent, Chris Looper by TKO. He was then chosen to fight for the promotion's title, which he won only a month later, by defeating Shane Wiggand, in five rounds of fighting in which Longacre won by Decision (Unanimous).
Longacre returned to action on March 6, 2009 at an XFL event, where he faced off against then-current featherweight champion Shane Waits, with the title on the line. Waits, a highly decorated wrestler, planned on using his grappling to confuse and control Longacre, the striker. After five-rounds of action, Longacre walked away with the Decision (Unanimous) win, with the judges scoring the bout 48-46,48-45,48-46, as well as the XFL Featherweight Championship.
On September 25, 2009, Longacre returned to action at Strikeforce Challengers 3: Cummings vs. Kennedy, where he faced off against Travis Calanoc. The fight had a bit of rivalry to it, as the two had trained together in the past, and both grew up in the same area around Tulsa, Oklahoma. Both fighters also worked and trained at LA Boxing; Calanoc in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Longacre in Sherman, Texas. The bout took place at a catchweight of 147 lbs., and Longacre went on to win the Decision (Unanimous).
