MMA Organizations using Pit Fighting in their Name
YAMMA Pit Fighting was a mixed martial arts promotion that was created by former UFC mastermind Robert Meyrowitz. The promotion's first and only event, YAMMA 1, was held on April 11 2008 in Atlantic City, New Jersey at the Trump Taj Mahal. It sported what was referred to as a revolutionary fighting structure which turned out to be a large circular cage with a fence surrounding it and that elevated as it rose up to the outer edge of the cage. The stated purpose of the rising at the outer edges was to prevent fighters from cornering their opponents into the corner. Rather, the rising edge of the Yamma Pit was to facilitate more action.
