Mike Goldberg (born November 24 , 1964) is an American sportscaster, best known for his work with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fight promotion.

Broadcasting Career

He is best known as the lead play-by-play announcer (working alongside Joe Rogan) for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), the world's largest mixed martial arts organization. His voice is heard on pay-per-views and shows on Fox Sports Net and Spike TV. Goldberg is the host of the Spike TV program UFC Unleashed.

Goldberg is also the studio host for college football telecasts on FSN. Most games involve teams in the Big 12 and Pacific 10 conferences.

In 2005, Goldberg was offered a contract to work for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), to be the head announcer on the WWE's flagship show RAW. He was also reportedly offered an extra 6 figure amount to no-show at a UFC event prior to starting work for WWE. Ultimately Goldberg refused the WWE contract and signed a new deal with the UFC. It is reported that due to his lifelong dream of being an NFL play-by-play announcer, Goldberg turned down the offer by the WWE because it's not taken seriously in the sports world because it's "sports entertainment" and not an actual sport.

He is the former TV play-by-play announcer for the Detroit Red Wings, Minnesota Wild and ESPN2 Hockey.

Goldberg is the announcer for the Lingerie Bowl. He also does play-by-play commentary for FSN's broadcasts of the Red Bull Air Race World Series.

Personal Life

Mike and his wife Kim have two children, a daughter, a son, and 2 dogs named Bailey and Prada. Goldberg is based in Phoenix, Arizona.

Grew up in North Olmsted, OH with one brother, Todd. Both played and were exceptional hockey players. Graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 1986 with a major in Mass Communication. At Miami U., Goldberg hosted the student television program "Sports Focus" which included Fox News' Bill Hemmer as a staffer.
