John "The Mulatto Mauler" Mahlow is an American mixed martial artist who competes as a Lightweight. He has competed in numerous more-regional promotions, including King of the Cage (KOTC) and the XFC.
He first began training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in 2000 with a school affiliated with the Machado brothers. His love for the sport of BJJ got him into mixed martial arts, on top of him participating in numerous grappling competitions.
Mahlow has fought for King of the Cage (KOTC) titles twice, the first time against eventual The Ultimate Fighter 6 winner Mac Danzig for the Lightweight title in 2006, and the second time for the Welterweight title against Aaron Wetherspoon, two years later.
Mahlow held the XFC Lightweight title, which he won by defeating Eben Oroz, and which he successfully defended once, before losing it to three-time UFC veteran Junior Assuncao in his second title defense. With about a minute to go in round one, Mahlow got caught in a fight ending Guillotine Choke that had Assuncao walking away with the title.
