Mixed Marital Arts Career

Affliction

High made his Affliction debut at Affliction: Day of Reckoning, losing to Jay Hieron via KO (Punch). High was knocked unconscious by one of Hieron's punches.

Dream

He faced Japanese qualifier, Yuya Shirai in the opening round at Dream 8 on April 5, 2009. High defeated Shirai quickly in the first round by Rear Naked Choke.

High moved on to the next round after beating Shirai. The fight took place at DREAM 10: Welterweight Grand Prix 2009 Final Round, against Brazilian Andre Galvao. He won a hard fought split decision to advance to the finals, where he fought Lithuanian Marius Zaromskis. Zaromskis defeated High with a Head Kick that knocked High out cold early in the first round.

UFC Career

Although he was defeated by Zaromskis, High was signed by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he made his debut on March 31, 2010 at UFC Fight Night 21. He faced off against Wrestling stand-out Charlie Brenneman, who used superior wrestling to defeat High by Decision (Unanimous). It should be noted that High did attempt numerous Guillotine Chokes, though he was never able to finish the fight.

His UFC career was short lived, as he was released by the promotion after his one-fight.

"Received my UFC walking papers today," High posted on his Twitter account. "One door closes another opens. ... You know how the saying goes."

Tachi Palace Fights

Shortly after being released by the UFC, it was announced the High had signed to fight John Alessio at a Tachi Palace Fights event in July 2010.
