Mixed Martial Arts Career
After competing for a variety of regional American-based promotions (most often for the Texas-based King of Kombat, Figueroa made his UFC debut against touted prospect Michael McDonald at UFC Fight Night 24: Nogueira vs. Davis, replacing an injured Nick Pace on less than two weeks notice. The fight was highly entertaining with both fighters exchanging strikes and submission attempts throughout the entire fight and earned Fight of the Night Honors. McDonald won the fight via unanimous decision.
Figueroa faced Jason Reinhardt on August 14, 2011 at UFC on Versus 5: Hardy vs Lytle. Figueroa won the fight via TKO at :50 of the second round.
