== Biography==
Charlie Brenneman was born in Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania. He is a graduate of the Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. Charlie went to college at Lock Haven University where he wrestled and finished his Collegiate Wrestling career with a Top 12 finish at Nationals. Following his days at Lock Haven, he went back to his hometown and taught at Hollidaysburg Area Junior High School.

== Pros vs Joes ==
In September of 2005, Charlie received a letter in the mail asking him to send in an audition tape for a new series that SpikeTV was creating. Figuring there was nothing to lose, Charlie made an audition tape and sent it in in hopes of being chosen as one of the contestants. Before he knew it, Charlie was LA bound to face off against such former professional athletes as Hershel Walker, Kevin Greene, Bill Goldberg, Clyde Drexler, John Rocker, Dominique Wilkins and many others. After winning his first show, he went on to the final episode where he dominated the competition and took home the grand prize along with his older brother, Ben.

== Mixed Martial Arts Career ==
Charlie went 3-0 as an amateur and 11-1 as a professional before being signed with the UFC.

=== Ultimate Fighting Championships ===
Brenneman made his UFC debut against DREAM Welterweight Grand Prix veteran Jason High on the preliminary card of UFC Fight Night Florian vs Gomi. He used his superior Wrestling to take his opponent to the mat and survived a few Guillotine Choke attempts to battle his way to the win by Decision (Unanimous).

His second outing took place at UFC 117 Silva vs Sonnen, where he fought undefeated Johny Hendricks. Brenneman, a collegiate wrestler who lost to Hendricks in the 2004 NCAA nationals, actually won the first round after scoring the fight’s first takedown and landing some solid shots from the ground. But in the second, Hendricks quickly wobbled and dropped his opponent with punches, and though initially surviving, Brenneman ate a combination and hit the mat again shortly afterward. The TKO stoppage came at the 0:40 mark of the second round, keeping Hendricks’ undefeated streak intact.
