UFC 179 Video: Joe Rogan looks at the top eight moments in Jose Aldo's career

There is little dispute that UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo is among the best fighters in the world.

By most accounts, Aldo is at worst the No. 2 fighter on the planet, which is where he sits in the latest USA TODAY Sports/MMAjunkie MMA pound-for-pound rankings, just behind Jon Jones. But many believe Aldo is No. 1.

Throughout his thus-far brilliant career in both the WEC and UFC, where he has been the promotion’s lone 145-pound champ, Aldo (24-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC) has had amazing moments. Now, before tonight’s title defense against Chad Mendes (16-1 MMA, 7-1 UFC) at UFC 179 in Aldo’s home country of Brazil, take a look at the eight moments UFC commentator Joe Rogan thinks are the champ’s best.

Of particular note, find out where Aldo’s knockout win over Mendes at UFC 142 ranks on the list.

Check out the video above. Then don’t miss UFC 179 tonight from Rio de Janeiro. The main card, with Aldo-Mendes in the main event, airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.
