With Marcio Alexandre Jr. (11-2 MMA, 0-2 UFC) out of the TUF 21 Finale, George Sullivan (16-4 MMA, 2-1 UFC) now meets UFC newcomer Dominic Waters (9-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

FOX Sports first reported the change, and UFC officials subsequently confirmed the new booking. MMAjunkie first reported Alexandre Jr.’s withdrawal.

The welterweight matchup takes place at The Ultimate Fighter 21 Finale, which is scheduled for July 12, the day after UFC 189, at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The bulk of the card, which also includes season-ending fights from “TUF 21,” airs on FOX Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

The night’s bout order has yet to be finalized.

Waters was a contestant on “The Ultimate Fighter 16,” where he was the top pick for coach Roy Nelson. However, he was ousted in the opening round of the 16-man tournament by eventual finalist Mike Ricci. Waters now rides the strength of a three-fight winning streak into his UFC debut.

Sullivan is the former Cage Fury Fighting Championships welterweight champion. After picking up a pair of victories in UFC action, Sullivan was submitted by Tim Means at UFC on FOX 15. Prior to the loss to Means, Sullivan was on an eight-fight winning streak.
