Yarg, Condit fan here/ardent defender of Condit in his fight against Diaz.

I can understand from a business perspective why it makes more sense for him to wait for GSP but...

Does this not entirely defeat the purpose of haveing an interim title?

He may as well have just sat on the shelf as "Top Contender"... what in the fuck is the point of an interim title now?

I liked Condit because he was a gamer, and I thought he would have no problems fighting anybody any time... really no matter what if you are champ you are going to have to fight the best.

Condit vs ellenberger is inevitable if he becomes champ... This to me is a subtle sign of fear/uncertainty.

What is the point of making an interim belt that will sit on the shelf for almost a year? What's next, an interim interim belt?

Condit needs to grow a set and defend that thing. Why wait? If he gets beat in the meantime, it just proves that he isn't deserving of this make-believe belt anyway.

So Silva is a better striker than JDS? He has better BJJ than Roger, Jacare and Maia? He has better wrestling than Sonnen? Has better judo than crappyama or Fedor? He has better cardio than Diaz or GSP? Don't think so. In MMA there is no comparison to Jordan whatsoever. Jordan was not only the best offensive player but he was one of the best defensive players as well. Now if you want to say Silva is the Scottie Pippen of MMA, I might buy that.

Hector Lombard has a better record, same finish rate, almost same number of title victories and has never been finished. We are talking about all of MMA not just the UFC. Jordan was miles ahead of the whole NBA.

Except in GSP'S last 10 fights I wouldnt call any a marginal lead except maybe Jake Shields. Although i dont like excuses, he did fight 4 rounds with one eye and no depth perception. Both are dominate in their respective sports. You would be an idiot to say George isnt the greatest 170 pounder ever. Just like you would be an idiot saying MJ isnt the greatest basketball player ever. I like a good debate as much as the next guy but in saying contrary to either statement you would be flat wrong. 6 NBA championships, 14 times an all star, 5 time mvp. 9 title defences against the best competition in the world, 22-2 record both losses having been avenged. He hasn't built the resume of MJ yet but the guy is only 30 and is not done fighting. GSP may not be the MJ of MMA yet but he certainly deserves to be declared the MJ of his weight class.

I wouldn't even call Fedor the MJ of MMA. There has yet to be an MJ imo. Certainly not one who lacks killer instict.

If JBJ runs true his opponents like he did in LHW and maybe later HW then whe have an MJ of mma....til then i don't see it happen.

True....the only one who can come close to beeing a MJ of mma is JBJ. If he keep fucking up people like he did, gain some weight, go to HW and make people like JDS or REEM look like chicken shit. Then we have one.
