Anyone else think it's strange with Chaels pay cheque? I'd of expected way higher considering how much he got the card hyped... lets face facts without him it wouldn't of been what it was! ;

Anderson Silva: $200,000 (no win bonus)

Chael Sonnen: $50,000

Forrest Griffin: $275,000 (includes $150,000 win bonus)

Tito Ortiz: $250,000

Cung Le: $150,000 (no win bonus)

Patrick Cote: $21,000

Demian Maia: $96,000 (includes $48,000 win bonus)

Dong Hyun Kim: $44,000

He never gets a win bonus. He get's paid 200k straight up. Like Tito's deal. Probably because they get a PPV cut. He did win KO of the night bonus though so he got an extra 75k.

He receives a high base pay + ppv revenue probably and more. Essentially you'd want the higher base so it doesn't matter win or lose, you still receive a high pay. I'm sure Cheal got a cut of ppv + as well.

I cant source it because its behind a subscription wall on Dave Meltzer's site, but Oliver Copp who either did, or still does work for UFC.com said that Anderson took a flat fee instead of a PPV cut because he hates doing media and primetime shows and all the stuff that comes along with promoting the fight. He said he was getting 7 mil no matter how the fight does. Then elaborated some more on it.

And if he plays his cards right, the seven million might just turn into fourteen.

He has an immediate rematch clause in his contract, should he lose to Chael.
