Because the UFC doesn't sell near enough. It'd be too risky for Dana to put a quality card in the UK when he could put the same card in the US and make 1/3 more.

It's all business. The MMA scene in Europe is minimal at best. The UK is the ONLY place in Europe the UFC is willing to go at this point, and for good reason. There just isn't that much money to be made there. If anything, it's a risk simply because the UFC is really leaving out it's core market. The United States. Say what you will about the US; we sure as hell put out the money when it comes to sporting events. So when big fights come up, it isn't smart to put those fights where they aren't going to make much money.

That and you have to take into the fact that none of the prominent UK fighters are on winning streaks. None of them. 1 fight is not a winning streak and it doesn't make for much of a hype. And as we all should know, hype sells. And honestly, that fight is still better than what you're going to get in the UK anyways.

If you really want some quality UK cards, don't buy UFC; buy some other promotion that is based out of the UK. The UFC is never going to leave it's core market in the US. It just isn't. But perhaps if a UK promotion, or a Euro promotion for that matter, does break out you'll get exactly what you want.

you sound like your from london........ thats from forgetting sarah marshall.

anyways you should appreciate the fact you are getting a card. Brazil has some of the p4p greatest fighters in the world and they only have a couple ufc events this year. they don't cry about it.

this is why england lost the war

The only thing i can hope for is that hardy will be on the co-main. even then considering i would have to shell out around £300 that i dont have the UFC will get fucked! Dana has to learn to feed other markets and not just the US, ireland havent had a card since franklin vs hendo if i remember. germany got fucking okami vs cunt! sweeden got a fare card but everyone else is getting screwed while the US and canada get 85% of the shows a year. Discrace.

First i have to say be happy that the UFC have come alot in the UK

Holland done much more for the fightsport MMA/K-1 than UK, They have more big champions
and more hystory for the fightsport so be happy with all those events!!!!

I always respect your opinion,

But on this one i really do not agree with you, and i say show more respect for Struve and Miocic
2 great talents, Struve i have to say is now more than a talent, alot of experience and he improve everytime
he really learn now how to use his reach,, Look pleazz again to the fights of Struve vs Morecraft and Sjojnic
if a fight like that happend in UK you will never forget it! Miocic is also a fighter that fight with his heart just
like struve so it will be a brutal great fight!!!

And not be only a fan for the big names, the smaller names are no smaller fighters its still a high level
and some future champ ore future top 5 top 3 fighters you never know, So not only be happy with a event
if there are bigger names also respect the others... And be happy with a event in the UK ;-)

Yeah...main events aren't supposed to have guys that COULD be contenders in the future (you can say that about literally anyone in the UFC)... They should be title fights, or else #1 contender fights with a stacked card under them...

Too many events, too many watered down cards...it's not working.

Maybe its because the company is based in the US and its easier for them to host events here  Oh and only americans pay for PPV which is the main source of income for the UFC.

That's a valid point but it doesn't explain UFC Japan, I mean they got a championship fight and a decent card. The best we get is two (at this moment in my opinion) mid-tier heavyweights as a main event, I don't fully understand this assumption the UFC has that we want to see our own fighters when most fighters from the UK aren't anything special. I mean for all I know I could be the only one who feels this way so don't hold me to it but yeah. Also with the PPV thing wouldn't the people that would be buying tickets buy the PPV instead?

I think that is because there aren't enough 'good' Britons fighting right now. Every time a card is in a foreign (non-US) nation there are always lots of local fighters.

When the best guys available aren't top 10 it is hard to stack a card with big name excitement. Many cards actually turn out good, but not terribly interesting to people looking for name recognition and major league calibre fights.

Want better cards? Get better fighters. All the Brazil cards were and look amazing... Because they have BETTER fighters... Why? Because they have their own promoters.
