Martin Kampman is a beast and he's been that way from day one. He will most likely win this bout.

Kampmann has had only 1 career split-decision? I don't think Alves has ever gone to a split decision.

Condit and Shields were both splits, I just found out that the Story fight was turned into a UD. But that was originally a split. For some reason I thought the Sanchez fight was a split decision as well.

Could you honestly call Kampmann/Shields split, though? That's what's on paper, but that should have been a 29-28 UD in Kampmann's favor.

Exactly, I'm not saying I call it a split, but there's just something about Kampmann and ridiculous judging. He's winning a fight and then just....coasts.

I don't think you could say he coasts. He's been straight up robbed a couple of times, but like you said, bad judging."

He definitely coasts. 3rd round in the Sanchez fight was all coast....unless he was just tired. I've seen it from him before.

I would go for Alves...He has a better chance of koing/tkoing Martin....as far as Kampman subbing Alves I really don't think he would be able to get it to the ground...Thiago has some really good tdd.

I think that was the opposite of coasting. He continued to bust Sanchez up even worse in the 3rd.

I know Kampmann beat Story and Story beat Alves and all, but I think this would be an example of MMAth not working. Story really only beat Alves by holding him on the cage for 2 rounds, and with a slight adjustment to gameplans Alves could have just as easily won that fight.

I'd say the grappling between these two is pretty equal... too equal for the fight to be decided by who is the superior grappler imo. I think Alves is just too big and strong for Kampmann, and while Kampmann may be a better technical striker, Alves could probably overpower him with leg kicks and aggressive striking in general and probably win a decisive decision or TKO.

Alves is a tad bit overrated... i'd pick Martin in this one...

This is going to be a very entertaining fight. I got Alves by knockout in round 1 or 2, if it goes beyond that point it would mean that kampman got his timing down and Kampman will take it via decision (split)
Finally! a fight worth the anticipation
