You do realize that overeem cannot be fined or suspended....

They dont care what the nsac says.
Please explain to me how a contracted UFC fighter, who had to have a license to fight, cannot be suspended or fined. Sonnen got suspended and fined. Silva got suspended and fined. Sherk got suspended and fined. So why is Overeem immune? If he doesn't get fined and suspended then everyone who has been fined and suspended for failed tests have a right to file a complaint.

Personally if I were JDS I would decline the fight until Reem can pass multiple, random drug tests. Why should JDS have to fight a cheater?
Overeems licence expired. And they tested him before giving him another licence, so they have no legal right to do anything. The most they can do is just not give him another licence, which they will just end up giving him one anyway, everyone knows this fight is still gonna happen.

Kizer has already said he cant do shit about it. All those fighters you named were given a licence and failed the test.
If Overeem is allowed to fight after failing a drug test, then tell me how that is fair. He can be suspended or fired by his boss, Dana White. If the NSAC cannot do anything about then Dana will. He has punished every fighter that has ever tested positive and Overeem is no different. This fight is not going to happen. Like I have said if it does, I hope JDS declines the fight or pulls out. He should not have to fight a cheater.

Yeah that's the answer, move to another country so Reem can juice all he wants and not worry about getting caught right?

CANT MOVE THE FIGHT but i did want to see JDS vs Reem. still do, but if i cant, then send in Frank. Stop this BS as there is no viable option at HW. Carwin makes no sense and Dana Hates Barnett.

odds aren't looking good... whatever happens, the UFC will look silly if they let Overeem fight without serving a suspension first... his victory will be tainted if he wins and everyone will continue to talk crap about it... there's practically ZERO chance of Overeem fighting in the states this year... wish i was wrong, i am a fan and i love watching his fights

If they want the fight to happen then YES. Otherwise, keep it like it is. Im not advocating any type of cheating, all im saying is that if they really wanted the fight to happen, thats an option.

If AO gets licensed

Postby doyousukadaweena » Mon Apr 09, 2012 7:57 am

If by some technicality, Overeem gets licensed to fight what are your thoughts?
I'm psyched to see the fight go down but can we and the sport of MMA just turn a blind eye so easily?
Try to leave the bias out when answering the question. (ie: Jetli).

The UFC may sell one card and lose a lot of credibility. Fans wouldn't acknowledge Reem as champ even if he did win.

UFC would become a running joke.

I'm not saying I agree with it at all...but the fighters he suspended for testing positive were suspended AFTER they fought due to POST-fight drug tests. They had already served their purpose. But Overeem got caught by a pre-fight random test...so it's a little different. Overeem has yet serve the purpose that Dana wants him to. I honestly can see Dana coming up with some bullcrap reason like "Oh well the test was done RIGHT after the TRT and the amounts had already subsided days after and now he's completely normal and will be come fight time." Who would be able to argue then? He could just argue "doctor error" and point the finger in another direction.

Everyone knows Dana's MO. When Chael cheated he still had a purpose (rematch) so Dana brushed it over saying the NSAC has already punished him and that he didn't want to take money out of a fighter's family's pocket then he contradicted himself and dropped Marquardt, King Mo and anyone else who didn't provide a major draw. There is no consistency in Dana and if AO gets a free pass it won't surprise me in the least.

I want mma to gain credibility and we should be incensed if Overeem is allowed to compete. This would be an amazing fight, but let's view boxing not with a negative eye but one that has many cautionary tales. Overeem, IMO, is talented enough to work his way back into conention and become the threat to JDS that I believe he is.
So we beat on, boats against the current, borne back ceaselessly into the past.
