If Dana was to put on an event and call it "PrideFC", that doesnt mean its really "Pride". Pride is a name only, and unless you bring back every employee that worked for the old Pride, its not going to be the same, so i would argue that "Dream" is Pride.

I guess the question is... how does calling an event or org "Pride", make it the Pride you are talking about in this thread? Is the title of Pride more important than the fighters that made up Pride? If the answer is no, what are we even talking about?

Regional shows would be more like just having Strikeforce Challengers events set up around the world. I think they'd be skeptical to even do something like that, though. With more events and more fights, there's less match-making that Dana and Joe Silva have control over. They can't watch all of these guys and know how to match them up and I don't think they have people they trust enough to do this for them. Maybe Coker, but that's just one guy who would be in charge of way more than what Zuffa has at the moment.

(notice I didn't even acknowledge the PrideFC shit in the above paragraph)

Do I think DW wants to have anything of that nature to compete with the UFC? Not on your life.

Perhaps another promotion can continue to grow into something similar to Pride, as certain other JMMA orgs employ 'international rules'...but JMMA is in trouble, and it is largely due to the aura of Pride/Yakuza corruption and the fact that Zuffa is the major power in the sport, where the unified rules prevail.

how is it competing if they r both owned by the same person? its all profit?

it's more likely that dana would start up something and call it "gay-pride".
not that there's anything wrong with that.
and he'd have for a logo, the old pride fist disappearing into an bum, with the rainbow colours as a background.

It does seem to fit the plans that dana was talking about and it would be easier to promote a fallen but beloved brand. so what are your guys thoughts on regional circuts?

been on mmalinker for over 2yrs and u only have 32 posts? wtf
