Olympics Boxers going to MMA

Postby Realidea » Fri Aug 10, 2012 7:50 pm

The Brothers Falcão made history for the Brazilian boxing on Friday, with on in the finals for the London Games and another a bronze medalist. However, Esquiva and Yamaguchi said they do not know if they continue in the sport or will soon migrate to the MMA to realize the dream of his father. Former practitioner of mixed martial arts fighter and active even at 75 years (amateurs perform occasional fighting), Taurus Moreno wants the children Olympic medalists tread path to the UFC. In practice the family home in metropolitan Victoria, Moreno used his backyard to pass notions of ground fighting for the brothers. Yamaguchi is now later in learning, while Esquiva has given the preliminary guidelines. "I dream of my father. I do not know when I go, but I know I'm going to MMA. Lot depends on the proposal. I am currently in the selection, but I want to accomplish this dream of my father," Yamaguchi said after the defeat in semifinals of the category up to 81 kg for the Russian Egor Mekhontcev.

Yamaguchi said that after the bronze in London's priority is to pay the bills in Brazil, as portions of a car that has just bought. "I do not know yet what will be the best time. The Olympic boxing is a good phase. I'll be at least another two years in boxing, but I realize this dream of my father. I have to train more ground. It's kind of hard to make this change now but by 2016 we'll see, "said Esquiva , who is vying for gold on Saturday in front of the average Japanese Ryota Murata. Asked about the possibility of losing their two boxers, the coach of the Brazilian Joao Carlos Barros said he will fight the decision in favor of MMA and said the brothers see the change as a threat to boxing kicking Brazil. ABOUT THE FATHER OF medalists The folklore surrounding Taurus Moreno was born in the Spirito dos santos in the 60s, after a stalemate in the struggle with Waldemar Santana, famous for years before defeating Helio Gracie, the MMA legend National, one of the inventors of Brazilian jiu-jitsu . The father of the 2012 double Olympic boxing says that just because opponents could not find the time in the Spirito dos santos among fans of MMA at the time of youth. Currently Taurus Moreno carries between one and two boxing matches per year in the Spirito dos santos, always with much younger opponents at around 40 to 50 years. In his 15 living children, four are dedicated to boxing.

Cool story. Hopefully we will see a similar cultural shift in the US where the transition of boxers going to mma is considered honorable.

Yamaguchi is nothing special. He might have an edge on most guys in MMA, but he won't set the world on fire with his boxing. He's pretty wild and undisciplined.

Considering really good boxers on cards with Mayweather Get a few hundred bucks I'd say MMA if they can make it to a mediocre level. Either way, It's no easy road to money unless you are extremely great or a pretty good HW lol.

If they became world class boxers at a pro level they would make more money than if they become average MMA fighters. Now if they become full fledge MMA world beaters then they can make a pretty penny as well.

The best boxers aren't seen in the Olympics. The style that is most often seen in the Olympics, the pillow-fisted game of tag they usually play, doesn't cut it at all in the pros. That's the big issue though, since the Olympics isn't actually about who boxes better, and only about who taps the other guy enough times in a certain spot, guys going right from the Olympics to MMA wouldn't be served well at all.

They don't even count the body shots landed, so everybody out there is head hunting, which is too predictable and easier to defend against. It really fucks up the flow you would typically see in professional boxing.
