Comparing to The Avengers.... Marvel wins again. Loki wasn't the main bad guy...this was a set up in bringing in the Thanos storyline into the movies. Loki was just a pawn that sort of falls into the trap of being such a fallen character since finding out he was adopted. There will be an Avengers part two after Thor, Captain America, Iron Man, Ant Man and Guardians of the Galaxy all have movies to build up to Avengers 2. It's a trilogy vs a whole new Universe of movies.
Turning the Bane badass that he is in "Vengeance of Bane" in the comics into this protector that gets fucked up for letting a little girl escape only to have her rescue him and put him on life support? WEAK.
Bane in the comics is a fucking monster badass, who uses the mask to make himself stronger and more powerful. Not as a crutch-like Darth Vader mask. That twist was pretty fucking stupid, only to add another twist that wasn't really needed.
We're talking about a singular movie, not a continuance. What's more is you're speculating that the introduction of Thanos and other Marvel characters will make the Avengers sequel a better movie. DKR kills Avengers as is, no question. What happens in the future has yet to be seen and if the people involved in the Marvel movies don't get their shit straight their movies won't surpass DKR. I don't doubt it will be entertaining though.
While you might not like the deviation from the comics, lets not forget that Marvel has done it before as well. Difference is, DC did it better here.
Thought I hit edit but I guess I quoted that shit.
There is a question as to who's better, Avengers or DKR, lol...but that can be it's own thread imo.
There is always deviation. The first time the Avengers assembled was because of Loki fucking around with the Hulk. And all these new Marvel movies are intended to make a whole universe of movies that are interrelated.
I didn't hate DKR, I just liked The Avengers better. It really irked me that Bane became a secondary character, even though he "Was the League of Shadows" only to be trumped by a twist that goes nowhere since the movie ended 10 minutes later.
