Mirko Cro Cop's Revival?

Postby WandyCroCop » Mon Jul 02, 2012 1:24 am

Cro Cop appears to have made a return to K-1. Looks like he is participating in the K-1 MAX Grand Prix 2012 and has already won the opening fight against Loren Javier Jorge via 2nd rd KO.

I just watched the fight and IDK whether i'm too late on this or not, but I searched and nothing came up.... the fight took place May 27th so im guessing not very many people were aware of it. I have to say, Cro Cop looked really good in the first round. He landed a nice left body kick and a few blocked headkicks but he looked really fast. The second round he started to tie up a lot more and it was clear that he was getting tired, but after the fight was paused to have the doc look at Javier's arm (Don't why what the fuck that was about, Jorge wanted out of that fight you could tell) Cro Cop got him up against the ropes and dropped him once with a left uppercut, and then another left uppercut after he stood back up.

I think Cro Cop still has it in him to compete, the dude's stand up is REALLY good and I think that he just wasn't cut out to be an MMA fighter. Even his most recent fights he was treating like a K-1 fight, it just wasn't working for him.

he may win a few fights. but i still don't think he has it in him to beat the top K1 guys
not having to worry about takedowns will def. make him open up a lot more though

I watched the fight.. It just never came to my mind to actually post about it.. Keep forgetting about this section in the forum, heh. I'd have to agree with the above poster.. It's great he's made it this far.. but he's probably a heavy underdog to win the whole GP.

He can't compete in MAX, MAX is for the lighter weights. I did see the fight though, and he looked pretty good.

:lol:I just watched the fight like 2 weeks ago and i was completely baffled that he fought on may 27th and no one on linker seemed to be talking about it. It's still weird for me to see how big he is. ...even though he's technically not that big compared to other guys.

Not trying to discredit Mirko's win but it looked like Jorge gave up pretty fast. Maybe it had something to do with his arm like you hinted at, WCC. Either way, he looked good and a win's a win so i'm glad he won.

War LHK.
