TUF on Fox

Postby sTiTcH » Fri Jun 15, 2012 12:27 pm

With the recent announcement of abandoning the live format of TUF, I am interested in hearing what your opinions are about the real reasons TUF Live did not work out. I personally think the show came off kind of cheezy, like a scripted show. Every scene seemed to start with someone in the background screaming "Action". Not to mention Jon Anik sucks as a host. His voice annoys me almost as much as Mike Schiavello.

it was live so they couldn't script it, involve storylines, the fighters are mediocre, the show is played out and it was on fridays

a few reasons is because its on friday and alot of people are busy on friday, it didnt allow enough time to get to know the fighters in the house and im sure they want more fights and shit happening in the house because that gives them alot of ratings

Friday nights hurt it. Plus the two coaches "beef" was extremely lame and very forced, in my opinion. Also, the talent on the show wasn't that great.

Ratings were going down on Spike to for awhile.

The talent on the shows dont do much anymore when they get into the UFC. Why invest hours of TV into guys who wont amount to anything. If people thought they could still be watching the early stages of a true, new breakout star, theyd still be watching.

I love TUF and I only watched the first 3 episodes of the season while at work, because why would I order a specialty channel for 1 show? You do not get FX in Ottawa with basic or digital cable, you have to order it. It was also on Fridays, so basically every 18-25 year old is doing something with their night, and it isn't watching TUF if you have a life. 18-30 is their biggest fan base so I'd say it was the dumbest move in TUF history to move to FX. Not 1 person I know personally watched this season. I doubt they even made any money off of it.

Yeah i think the live format does not work for tuf. It's supposed to be a reality show where you get to know each fighters personality and with the live format the fight it self took up 75 % percent of each episode to allow air time incase the fight went all 3 rounds.

I think it caused too many problems for the fighters. What if chiesa would have been injured the week before and couldn't fight in the finale? I loved the concept just wasn't meant to be at this time
